Congratulations to all the actors of the success of the “premiere” of this event and a special mention to David Payne :

“The idea for the Ballesteros Heritage Competition on May 8th was inspired by the anniversary of his passing and the importance of ‘Seve’ to the success of our Golf Club.
I hope we have started an annual tradition. Last year Kevin Blissett and myself organised a 9 hole evening competition to thank the 30 Members who had helped us to acquire the original painting of Severiano Ballesteros designing the Pont Royal Golf Course. The painting, which hangs in the Members’ Lounge, was created by a renowned painter, John Mackie, who specialises in paintings of famous golfers in action. The success of this trial, with the special ‘Seve’ golf holes encouraged the Association Sportive to fill the void left by the last ‘La Provencale’ . This was a very difficult act to follow with the tremendous efforts my old friend Gerard Bonnet and his Team made over the years.

I would like to thank especially the Costa Brava Tourist Board for their very generous support with 4 prizes of hotel accommodation and golf : Hotel Santa Marta; Emporda Golf Resort; Parke Hotel San Jorge – Le Golf d’Aro Mas Nou ; Torremirona Golf Club and Hotel .
The Costa Brava is only 4 hours away and is well worth a visit for a change of scenery and some great golf and hospitality.

Looking forward to next May.”
