Ladies “Dames Séniors de Provence” at La Salette

The second meeting of the DSPLA in 2019 took place in La Salette, an opportunity for our team to welcome Jacqueline Fille!

84 players  for the start in shot gun, scramble two. Pont Royal was represented by 8 players:

Marie-Pierre Blériot and Anne Carole Galaup

Francine Battini and Micheline Blot

Nicole Rault and Jacqueline Girl

Magali Paganelli and Micheline Diepart Jancloes

The team ranks fifth of the day with 95 points and Pont Royal retains third place overall behind Aix Marseille and La Salette.

Beautiful day shared with friendly competitors on a course somewhat disturbed by the work of embellishment!

Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day
The 2019 season has traditionally started on Sunday 17 February with the Valentine’s Day Cup at the Pont Royal International Golf Course. Thirty one teams were present on the course, with an exceptional weather and a top-of-the-range course to satisfy everyone.
Our two young players Mathilde and Boris won the Gross with 39 points or 3 below the par and Bruno and Manon won the Net with 44 points.
Congratulations to all the participants .
The awards ceremony took place on the terrace of ES BEU LA VIE, it was an opportunity to thank our generous and faithful sponsors,
Château CALAVON, Champagnes TSARINE / LANSON, TAAJ cosmetics
who contributed to the endowment of champagnes, wines and cosmetics. Thanks to the Pont Royal golf team and especially to Thibaut Sampoux .
The buffet offered by theSports Association Sportive was the opportunity for friendly exchanges and post-game discussions that gave everyone the desire to come back. .

Golden Boot October 2018

The traditional match between Pont Royal and GoodWood had its UK leg this week … and seen the GoodWood team winning. This translates into the “Golden Boot” to be brought back in Pont Royal.

The French Cup

Sunny day with close to 80 participants playing scramble .

Everyone gathered at the “Es Beu La Vie” terrace for a well deserved BBQ . Prize giving and draws thanks to our loyal and generous sponsors Chateau Calavon, Champagne Tsarine, TAAJ cosmetics..

Camille Majal from ” Batir au Sud” introduced his activity and we had a nice display of Vintage English cars… wearing french colors !

Scottish Cup

The first Scottish Cup was held at Pont Royal … under the leadership of Carolyn and Tom and with the participation of Jeanie and Simon, Roy and Claudine, Derek Anderson and George Freeland.
The day got off to an early start in hot sunny weather and with a remarkable investment by the “Scots team” before and during the event. Some Scottish refreshments mid-course were distributed by Heather, Suzanna and Jacob followed by a sumptuous award ceremony on the terrace of Es Beu la Vie. Prizes for the first teams, longest drive and nearest the pin… and lots of lots in the draw which delighted the participants.
Haggis was served with the cocktails, a gastronomic discovery for some, which added a” Scottish flavour” to the reception. The consensus of all participants, according to the clapometer volume, was congratulations to the Scotland team and a wish for it to be the first in a long series! A big thank you to our Scottish sponsors Gold Brothers, Tunnocks Bakery and VisitScotland for their generosity, to Chateau Calavon for their loyalty … and a nod to Krys, Inguimbert optics, in Mallemort, sponsor of our Seniors team who offered a pair of special Ryder Cup glasses in the draw.

Ladies Seniors at GAP.

 

First day stroke play for the 6 teams of the Ladies Seniors 1st Division.

Pont Royal finishes 6th and goes to match play against St Donat, a far better ranked team!

Our ladies with wounded and illness … could not stop the run and lost the game.

Aix is the champion of PACA for 2018. We play in 2d Division for 2019.

The ASP in Valgarde

The Association Séniors de Provence was in Valgarde this week.

Sunny and warm, weather on this course that will welcome a Paca Tournament soon.

Excellent result for Pont Royal Tie First with the local Valgarde Team. Our team:

Sylvie Boulet, Alain Desbouvries, Jean-Louis Bilhou, Philippe Vallée, Philippe Vidal, Fred Deniau, George Laird, 

Superb performance for Fred &st in Groos at par and Sylvie second at +3.

The Senior 2 Gentlemen Team in 1st division

First competition of the PACA Golf Association dedicated to the “Nicely Vintage” Gentlemen (“Senior 2” : 65+) at La Grande Bastide.

Recognition round on Thursday, June 28 with thunderstorms on the menu!

Pont Royal makes the “Cut” on the first day in Stroke Play finishing 3rd on 13 teams ! Second day in Match Play against Digne: One Foursome: Rolland Chauvin and Claude Sigwalt … winners at the 16th hole: 4/2 Two singles: Jean Baptiste Gagliardi .. winner at 15: 4/3 and Gerard Jansen-Vaneboer who shares his match at 16 … considering the result of the other matches.

Result 2.5 to 0.5 Congratulations for this converted test shot and Pont Royal will evolve in the first series of Ligue Séniors2 Gentlemen.
